Serum <> MG3 <> MPE

Has anyone been able to get this to work? I already have MPE enabled in serum, and mapping the mod wheels don’t seem to have any effect. Am I missing something? It’s hard to tell what MIDI messages are getting output from MG3 or fed into Serum. The only thing that seems to work is the Velocity section mapped to Osc1’s level.

I don’t have Serum, but do make sure pitch bend range matches for both, just in case you haven’t checked that yet!

both are set to 48, which is default for both

Serum works with MG3s poly-pitch bend perfectly in my experience; haven’t done much mapping tho, sorry.

I’ve been meaning to write up a post here asking exactly what/where MG3 is outputting in regards to MPE and MIDI messages because I too would like to know

A MIDI monitor is a very important tool to have when you’re trying to figure these things out.

I agree with @Vaultnaemsae here. Everyone should have an easy to understand MIDI monitor application/plugin that works inside and outside of any and all of your MIDI environments. I use Uwyn ShowMIDI, and I find it indispensable. It is free, so check it out: ShowMIDI by Uwyn - MIDI Monitor Plugin VST VST3 Audio Unit CLAP LV2
