This video is meant to serve as the SECOND part of a starting point for anyone unfamiliar with the JamOrigin MIDI Guitar software in general, or the MIDI Guitar 3 software in particular.
This part of this series is intended to go into detail on topics like plugin modules settings, MPE vs MIDI 1.0, Bend range settings, Dynamics Module: Compress/Hold Press/Tone
I’d just like to say that these videos are great. You have explained things excellently.
I have been using a Roland GR1/GK2 combo for many years and have also been using MG2.
MG3 is fantastic…congratulations on your accomplishment.
Also you lucky guy…a Parker Fly…tried one many years ago…but alas I didn’t have the cash.
MG3 really is fantastic and it sort of hits me every day when I use it. The accomplishment is a 100% @JamO. I am just poiting out some of the features in videos, and try to help users out as much I can to navigate around the most obvious pitfalls with the software.
Very useful video to uncover some of the secrets of having a good setup and results with MG3.
Thanks so much! Excellent!
I wish I could play guitar as you do…
Thank you @pasha
I am glad you find this useful. There is a lot of effort going into making these videos clear and concise, so I am always happy to hear if/when I succeed in communicating anything.
Fantastic drawing.
My path with guitar has been ‘uncommon’…
At the beginning I knew all the Beatles, The Wings, The Who (Tommy), Pink Floyd and Italian songs. In the 80’s that worked very good at parties
…
Then when I joined a band they needed a Bass Guitar Player… so I developed a walking bass style and I was good at it (Paul McCartney Bass lines were an inspiration) then the change… the band needed a Guitar Player. Scales on Bass are forgiving. 4 strings and no ‘strange’ gap between G and B strings as in Guitar. It took me years to re learn soloing but for almost 20 years I remained like stalled because of the music we played no need for extras. 5 years ago I started practicing like crazy, getting in touch with jazz, scales, music theory and all that great stuff. As your drawing says everyday!
What I think it’s lost forever because of my story is tapping, finger picking and some advanced guitar techniques. It’s for me a pleasure to listen and see what LofiLeif does even if I know that it’s light years away from where I am. I am not stopping practicing. I love music so much because I discover new things everyday… and MG3 it’s becoming a big aid for Musical expression!
you reminded me to spend the time learning the mccartney bass lines. i need to get washed up on a desert island with my bass and an amp and the tabs.
was it you that was dealing with wrist/hand issues? if so, it sounds like you’re working around them, or at the very least they’re not interfering too much with your explorations.
Thanks for the advice!
I’ve had tendonitis for 3 weeks now, the pain was bad for the first week but then it disappeared.
I’ve changed hands for the mouse and I’m keeping the other one at rest as much as possible.
My next live performance is in mid-November, so I’m in the clear. I will do 1,500 km to play 5 days in a row, but I think I’ll be fine.
Yes I am.
For a period I was fine after some treatments.
Unfortunately since Monday my left hand is back in the problems.
Let’s see how it goes this time. Crossing fingers.
PS : Paul McCartney Bass lines are great. Try silly love songs and sing over it. Magic!
