Hi, I’m trying to pay for Midi Guitar with Paypal. I get as far as the “complete order” button. When I click that, the page just reloads, no error, but does not get any further. Most frustrating. Please advise. I am buying from the UK.
I just tried again. I got exactly the same, after authenticating the purchase in PayPal, I get an error which says
“The VAT ID entered is incorrect, or does not match the country you selected (GB). Only corporate customers based in the EU who use the VAT ID for payment processing within the EU are required to enter a value. If this does not apply to you, or you are an individual, leave the VAT ID field empty. For VAT ID format questions, contact questionacharge.com.
- We have estimated your order total as £139.24 based on recent exchange rates. Your actual payment will be submitted as US$179.94”
Then it just returns to the “Complete Order” screen
We have had this issue with FastSpring a few times. It seems like it’s a cookie related issue.
I should be possible to order from a private/incognito browser tab - that worked in the other cases.
I have just tried again using Firefox InPrivate browsing and I also tried with Google Incognito browsing. I have switched off my VPN. I got exactly the same error. The Fastspring website looks like it was designed for Windows 95. Is that the best payment processor you can find?
I have also logged a support ticket with Fastspring.
Thank you.
FastSpring is one of the few payment processors that act as “merchant of record” and thus spare us small companies headaches regarding handling VAT in all countries. But that’s of little use if people can’t pay in the first place ![]()
So, any ideas? Fastspring have done nothing at all. Can you ask them? they are more likely to listen to you. I also logged a support ticket with Jam Origin but got no response. What’s up guys?
Just a thought; are you using your PayPal account? It is also possible (at least here in Thailand) to pay via PayPal without logging into an account, just with the credit card information. This might not “trigger” the VAT thing?
I don’t get what you mean. I can’t use PayPal without logging into it and I want to pay with PayPal, not credit card.
Things might be different in the UK. I can pay via PayPal not even having an account with them. Instead of logging in I can choose to enter a valid credit card which is then charged by PayPal. It was just an idea……
I have submitted a support ticket to them as well.
Thanks for your help, I have successfully activated my licence now
HI, would you mind sharing how you did it please?
Hi, I raised a ticket with the payment processors, Fastspring. One of their tech support guys created a special one-off link just for me that enabled my PayPal payment to go through.
thank you for that. i downloaded and installed MG3 and it resolved everything. no payment issue at all.
