Second question; how to get Midi out from MG3 standalone to a [usb] midi hub for example. the midi out will be picked up by Digital Performer and then I can route to the USB out, but by then it’s glitchy. I need to go directly from MG3
Thanks much!
Peter
Make sure the buffer size of your audio interface is set to 128 or 256. In MG3 standalone you can insert the MIDI output module (found in MIDI machines) in a chain slot. You can then insert a VST (after the midi out) in that chain and/or use any of the other two chains.
In the MIDI output module you select your MIDI interface (e.g. Roland UM-one). In my DAW I can pick up the MIDI signals from that interface output. I don’t know whether this is possible with Digital Performer but I think so.
Thank you for responding. I can choose mid output, but I don’t see how to put a VST in one of the slots. And I don’t conceptionally understand. Are you routing through cubase here? Or going directly from MIDI Guitar 3 to the instrument? Peter
The routing is: MG3 standalone to a MIDI interface > from the MIDI interface you can go to a external hard synth for example. In parallel you can use that output as an input in digital performer. I thought this was your question in your first post.
To insert a VST in a slot > right mouse click in an empty slot opens the selection menu. Choose a VST from the “Instrument” list. Make sure the volume is turned up in the mixer master section for that slot.
