What is the MIDI Guitar standalone application for?

the software comes with an app (component ?) and there is talk about installing a licence …

if i only want to use my guitar to use my cubase vst instruments, do i need a licence ? or the app ?

I don’t know what you call app or component, but what you need is Midi Guitar 3 and a license for it.
MG3 comes as standalone and VST application.

ok… the ‘component’ is the audio-unit .. you have to copy the vst and audio unit….

i don’t understand what they mean about this license ‘applying’ i want to use it in cubase.. do i have to do what i[ve pasted below before using it in cubase

How to buy and apply license

Installing the license for MIDI Guitar:
Open the standalone MIDI Guitar app, play with any other patch than “test piano”, when interruption comes, choose “apply license”, point to the downloaded .license file in your downloads folder

Yes, open the standalone version and apply the license. With this the VST version that you later will use inside cubase will be licensed too.

thanks.. i hope i know when the ‘interruption’ comes…. as stated in my post.

maybe its cubase interruptis ,lol

The instructions you pasted are for MIDI Guitar 2. The user had to manually drag the plugins into the appropriate folder locations for MG2, IIRC.

For MIDI Guitar 3, the installer takes care of that so you do not need to manually install any plugins on macOS. On Windows, I believe you will be prompted to select the parts you wish to install: VST2, VST3, and standalone application.

For the license activation, I think you click on the Shop button in the top left of the MG3 GUI.
