Had a test drive, and wow–you no longer have to route separate audio tracks in Ableton to use the hex tracker! Thanks, and Happy Birthday!

Just had a quick look at the new update and noticed the new sampler module was available. I have a large library of the Sforzando orchestral samples which I was able to access on MG2 previously but can’t get them to sound on MG3. Up until now when I tried to play one on a patch I migrated from MG2 The Sampler module appeared with the words “Sampler under construction”. The new sampler does not seem to like the old Sforzando samples but it does screech in response to any note played. I need some instructions on how to use it.

Thanks for the new update and happy birthday. Love this software, already does much more than I originally hoped for.

Thank you everyone!

The sampler isn’t really working/useful yet. I have it on my list. You can use Sforzando or similar, but those will probably not be ideal in terms of MPE expressions.

Thanks Jamo for the Quick reply, waiting patiently

Happy birthday! Hope you had a good one.

Greetings!

Correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t MG3 in a DAW having its own dedicated audio interface for HEX guitar inputs (SY-1000, GP-10 etc.) and another audio interface for outputs, in this specific case iConnectivity Audio4c , make it possible to also then route the incoming Hex audio straight to an iPad via the Audio4c? :slightly_smiling_face:

This way having HEX on iOS would be solved :+1:, or maybe I’m missing something?

For those that don’t know iConnectivity Audio4c is a soundcard that lets you use two machines simultaneously (PC Laptop/iPad, Mac/PC, etc.) and both send and receive audio and MIDI between the two things hooked up to it.

@Yadrichik_Chaya — I think I’m at liberty to say that MG3 Hex on iPad has already been proven possible by an early iteration of the iOS beta (pre-3.0.61) where it was possible to funnel multichannel audio to an iOS device from the MG3 desktop application via MG3’s “networking tracker” function. The problem was that it was a purely academic test, as there’s little point in running MG3 Hex over network on iOS if it’s dependent on MG3 running on another computer to make it functional. My reasoning is that you can already send MG3-generated MIDI to an iPhone/iPad via various protocols negating the need for MG3 to even run on the iPad, and anyway it was not possible to run it independently of the desktop.

I actually quickly tested last night (did you read my mind?) whether or not the recent iOS beta (3.0.62) could receive multichannel audio and it was not possible as there was no hex tracker included. But the new iOS beta (3.0.63) just became available in recent hours (it’s 4:30 p.m., May 26 in my time zone). There is most definitely a hex tracker included and I’m certain that it will be possible to funnel in the necessary audio streams to make it work. However, similar constraints apply in terms of getting the streams out of your hex device and into the iPad, regardless of having access to an iConnectivity interface. If you have a breakout cable and a class-compliant multichannel interface, you’re very likely good to go.

I’ll report back when I’ve had a chance to test it.

I just connected my Behringer X-32 to the iPad (even it’s officially not USB class-compliant). With the breakout cable I made some time ago MG3Hex runs fine on the iPad. Tracking quality of the iOS version is equal to the the MacOS or win version. Unfortunately I do not have a lot of AU plugins but the few I have are working well. I’ll keep testing!
