MIDI GUITAR 3 - coming soon!

I have tried 2 different mail adresses and both worked for me, I got a promt to:
Skärmavbild 2024-01-24 kl. 12.32.36

And once I did this I got:
Skärmavbild 2024-01-24 kl. 12.33.36

This is what it should look like, so we are all good.

So to @Popmar, perhaps try another mail, if you have nothing in your spam.

One day after I bought mg2🤣. Really enjoying it so far. After years of triple play and commuting to hardware this is really nice. Have full kontakt library and working mostly well. Loving playing my 57 Les Paul special and it’s tracking well esp on electric pianos and horns. Still struggling to get the mg2 interface to recognize my fishman fc1 controller for mod wheel but it’s working fine in pro tools and in kontakt stand alone. Will be on lookout for mg3

I think if you’ve confirmed your forum account through email before, you won’t receive a new email after entering your email in the “Invite for upcoming BETA releases” page, however if you enter a new email that you haven’t confirmed on the site yet, you will receive the confirmation email. I’ve had this issue yesterday.

… Tried it again several times today but it still doesn’t work. I didn’t receive anything by email. Isn’t it because I have an address with a Czech Republic domain? I also tried my backup google email, it got a reply immediately. So I don’t know where the problem is, but it doesn’t matter

Registered and with a Mac…
However will this release include the Deep Expressor (paid if I well remember) evolution?

Thanks!
The wait might be over soon…

Hi, I’m new to the forum and MIDI guitar. I downloaded the iOS version of MG2 and think it’s awesome and it has me very excited about MG3!

I wasn’t planning on buying the program for my MacBook, but would like to be part of the beta testing.

  1. What is the earliest Mac operating system that MG3 will work on (and what operating system do you recommend because of what other VST’s/plugins are requiring these days)?

I have an old 2015 MacBook Pro but the highest spec one of that year. 2.8ghz cpu, 16g ram. I’m on Mojave though, which is quite old now. I read that I can update it to Monterey.

I was planning on using my iPad Air 5 because the app was cheaper to use, my RME UFX interface will work with it, its got the newest operating system, and I’m under the impression that plugins Au3 instruments are cheaper on the iPad than Mac.

  1. Is it worth it to switch to MacBook?

  2. Will I get better latency? On the iPad when connected to my RME interface, MG2 will not let me change the buffer settings. It’s stuck on 256, which is a bummer.

Ultimately, based on how long it took for MG3 to be ready for beta testing, I’d rather get a head start with MG3 on Mac if possible, and if my MacBook Pro will run it, I think it will be worth buying MG2 to be able to do that. Just wanted to confirm these questions first.

If you use it in AUM as an auv3, you can then set the AUM buffer as low as 32(only recommended for super simple setups synth wise). I Typically use 128 and it’s pretty good.

This post is about MG3 coming soon, and as far as I know it hasn’t been tested in any iOS context yet. Are you sure this is where you wanted to post this?

I meant to reply to Swan’s comment regarding Mg2 and iOS buffer settings. Great video by the way. I couldn’t be more exited for Mg3!!!

Ah Right! Sorry!

Thanks! Yes, I know how you feel (and you are not wrong to feel that way either)

Hi LoFiLeif! I’ve watched many of your YouTube videos on mg2 and the breath controller, which is how I found out about this amazing software. You are awesome man!

I wasn’t sure where I should have posted these questions so I apologize for not starting a new thread, but it is primarily a question about MG3 beta.

I want to know if the MG3 beta will work on older Mac OS, and how far back. I’m on Maverick right now, but can update up to Monterey.

Hi @Swan
I am glad to hear you found your way into this little world of its own. And especially now as it is undergoing this wonderful transformation into MG3. Unfortunately I can’t tell you how backward compatible this (beta or full software) is going to be, since the oldest Mac I have this running on today is a MBP with Ventura. But I am sure @JamO will give us all the specs on the beta signup page eventually. I really don’t want to say anything about what I don’t know for sure. I hope you understand. :+1:

Maverick will be too old.

At the moment we target from 11.0 (Big Sur) but to be honest i dont have a stack of old MacBooks to test on, so this is one reason we are making a beta test, and thus the target of the final release may change as we get feedback.

@JamO Very excited about MG3 and Midi Bass 2! Any idea what versions of Windows will be compatible or still too early to say? I am currently on Windows 10.

@JamO

I still have an iMac running on Catalina (10.15) and one on Ventura (13). If this of any help I’d be glad to join testing.

Mac OS only
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!
 Windows soon please

Is it possible to control two vst’s at the same time?

Yes. You have three chains (channels) to work with, to use for either MIDI or Audio.

Great. Now I can layer synths for nice pad sounds.

Great news!! I replaced my EHX C9 & Mel9 with two iPhones and licensed version of MG2 and loving it. My wish list, if v3 is released for IOS, is ability to use separate Midi Channels for Program Changes, maybe a better progam numbering system. Also the Ranger.lua script for IOS would be great! I would happily buy these features if they can be add-on components for MG2. Tracking already meets my needs so any improvement there is gravy. Amazing product!
