Super excited about this, have been waiting for a while. I’m a Windows user but can’t wait any longer and will buy a Mac to use the beta. Are the minimum specs the same as MG2? Want to run it as latency free as possible. It’s the only thing that will be running on the machine other than possibly virtual midi to get it piped out to my main system. If anyone knows min (or min for best latency) Mac specs I would appreciate it greatly!
It doesn’t work on my macbook pro mid 2012 what do I do
Only a few vst3s cause problems, i.e. on Mac: GSI VB3, Hive 2, some Arturia plugins, and on Windows: Zenology, Korg Triton Extreme, Amplitube, some Kontakt instruments., and others.
What I do: I test the vst2 and vst3 versions and keep the most reliable version. If both versions work perfectly, I keep only vst3.
Hm, I am somehow to stupid to understand how to proceed with the license. I have a registered MG2 license for Mac
- I get the nag screen
- I click on the button “I have prev…”
- I enter my email for which I am registered
- after some minutes I get an email with subject “MIDI Guitar 2 license code” and a link inside
- I click on the link and in the browser I get: Authorization invalid or expired
I retried the whole process, same result. I get an Email with a link, but the link results in: Authorization invalid or expired
What’s wrong ?
Sorry for the inconvenience. There are some server problems as mentioned here and on the beta page. I’ll look at it later today, after an application update.
Those of you with access (I use iOS and Windows), how does it perform? I only care about MIDI conversion. Two main questions:
- How does the latency compare to MIDI GUITAR 2? Hopefully it is least as good.
- Is the polyphonic performance better? This is where MIDI GUITAR fell short of hex pickup systems (e.g. Fishman). It would be great that was improved. Having MPE is kinda moot if it’s not detecting all your notes consistently.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but where can I get a download link? I’m a MIDI Guitar 2 customer.
Logic ProX crashes (freeze) when scanning VSTs and COMPONENTS (audio unit and vst validation) - just on scanning MIDI GUITAR 3. Same with Maschine. I had to remove the plug-in to use this programs. At this point, the BETA is useless to me. I would be happy to test a version that works:)
macOS Big Sur.
Please try version 3.0.37

I’ve got both guitar a bass plugins on Mac OS, have had for ages, submitted request for beta testi. Several times, haven’t heard anything as yet.
Wondering how well this will work on 2017 iPad Pro (with USB) 256GB drive, and 4gig ram, Hexa-core 2.38 GHz (3x Hurricane & 3x Zephyr).
If I buy MIDI Guitar 2 today will I get a free update to v3 or do I have to wait and buy v3?
Hello Stefan, welcome here
The answer has been given several times on this page, but there are so many messages that it’s easy to miss.
Thanks a lot for the information! Still haven’t found it anywhere.
