MIDI Guitar 3 won't open in Logic anymore

Thank you for all your help, @LofiLeif. Just send me his email (if he is comfortable with that) and I will add him.

Thank you @JamO, I’ll let him know right away. :+1:

Thanks @Vaultnaemsae

Don’t have Blue Cat PatchWork (yet). I just reinstalled EVERYTHING on my computer, and I used to have Elements before. (Nice, since it was free, but unstable) But I have DDMF Metaplugin still, and it worked like a charm. Not stable either, if you go in a mess with what you have save to a preset, but if you just let it work in the background, it does its job. I wouldn’t have thought of trying this solution myself, so thanks. :folded_hands: :handshake:

Do you happen to know if there is any better solution for sending MPE via some virtual connection out from Logic to any synths (hardware or soft). I have tried Logics own External instrument virtual out, and also the apple IAC solution, but both of these throttle and clogs the MPE messages. I can modulate several parameters for up to three notes simultaneously with these solutions, but anything more and I get messed up (dropouts) note-offs and freezes. I anyone know of any great solution that isn’t just for MIDI 1.0, I am all ears.

Glad it helped.

Maybe try using a dedicated USB-to-DIN MIDI interface for sending to hardware. I think the Roland UM-One Mk. 2’s advanced mode must have a higher transmission rate than the standard driver – though I have no proof of that.

Alternatively, you could try a USB interface with multiple MIDI ports and loopback options to keep the MIDI in your computer. I use the iConnectAUDIO4+ for that sort of thing. I haven’t experienced any such problems but I guess your data streams are a lot denser than mine!

On the virtual MIDI front, maybe try Blue Cat Connector but I’m not sure it will improve over the IAC driver. Is there any “thinning” tool/script/plug-in you could apply to the stream? Or would that defeat the purpose?

The UM-One works perfectly for that purpose.
