Not seeing Quad Cortex showing in input or output devices on iPad Pro 3rd Gen 2020 in Midi Guitar 2.
This always worked for me but now not seeing it…
Can someone reply with the paper io settings so I can confirm my settings.
Thanks,

check your microphone permissions.
Thank you for your reply Kimyo. I am getting signal into the iPads just not coming out on the Quad Cortex, nor is the Quad cortex showing in my devices.
Mic permissions are on
What exactly are you seeing in the audio I/O?
In Audio Device IN/OUT
Input Device: IOS Audio
Output Device: IOS Audio
Input Channel: Ipad Microphone
Output Channels Speaker 1/Speaker 2
Virtual Midi is selected in Midi Output and input signal is getting in,
I never had this issue before so thank you for your help.
So the Quad Cortex is not selectable here if you tap on it?
Do other audio apps detect the Quad Cortex?
Does not show up to select. I only use it with Midi guitar with virtual midi to different synth apps.
Thanks,
James
this article covers mac and pc only, maybe the qc can’t be used as an audio interface on the ipad?
Thanks for your reply. I actually have used it as one. I just am dealing with this specific issue of not showing up in devices, and signal is getting into the iPad from the Interface.
Thanks
From what I understand, the QC is a class compliant USB audio device and thus should work with iOS devices.
OP, Not a single application with audio I/O required on your device? I’d find a free amp sim on iOS and download it to check with.
Good idea.
Thank you
James
Hi. I am getting signal and recording from the Quad Cortex audio interface into GarageBand on my iPad.
Still not seeing it show up on iPad settings sounds or in Midi Guitar.
Also, when in I/O USB settings on Quad Cortex there is no signal showing on any of the USB input or output meters.
I have USB 5/6 a and Muti out set on row 2 of the grid.
Any help on this greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I should add that recording into GarageBand does not record the effects on my Quad Cortex grid, just the dry signal
I also checked this on my iPhone and all the same issues with the interface not showing in Midi Guitar 2. Again, both iPad and iPhone when I was using them last year showed the interface on both iOS devices.
Thanks
I regularly use the Quad Cortex with my iPad, and everything works fine, including with MIDI Guitar 3.
In the screenshot below, you can see the Quad Cortex’s USB outputs accessible in AUM.
Don’t forget that QC USB1 is a copy of the QuadCortex’s DI input.
That said, it is difficult to generalize this operation with all versions of iPad. In my case, it is an iPad-Pro M4
This is also true for the iPhone. (iPhone 15 in my case)
The screenshot below clearly shows the QuadCortex’s USB channel selection in MidiGuitar3.
Thanks for your reply Xtian82.
My iPad Pro is a 2020 Gen 3
I am considering getting AUM Mixer but was hoping to resolve this issue first.
I know it was working on all my iOS devices so maybe it was an update that is causing this.
Thanks
For QC related enquiries, @xtian is your guy
FWIW, I have the same view on my iPad/iPhone and the connected interface name does not display – the audio channels are a generic list. This is different to other audio applications, like AUM, as demonstrated. But it doesn’t mean the QC is not available; it just means it’s not labelled.
It could be confusing for some users and I don’t think we can say it is “clear.” But, the fact remains – audio should make it into the application if the user is selecting a common input from the QC.
If I open MG3 on my iPhone (no devices connected) in regular tracker mode (just as a test) I can see all the channel inputs (1-16, etc.) when there is no interface connected, just the internal mic. If I select something out of the channel range – like Ch. 16 – it’s obviously not going to work.
I’m not familiar with the QC’s USB audio channel layout – please elaborate. Is 5/6 a stereo DI signal?
In addition to the above info, please send a screenshot of your main layout so we can better guide you.
